Inbetween Playa del Paradis and Playa de la Caleta in Villajoyosa you will find playa de Bou Nou.
I first discovered this beach on Google Earth searching for cliffs to jump, i spotted a potential spot and was excited to check it out.
Later that week i was invited to a birthday party a little further south at Cala del Xarco, i had never been there before so was looking forward to checking it for cliffs to jump from.
The next day i packed my paddle board and headed down.
We had some food and drinks, a little later i suggested to a couple of friends that we paddle around and see what's on the other side of the beach, as they had their own kayaks with them they were keen to go for a paddle.
We told the others where we were heading and set off northward, there was little in the way of cliffs to jump from, i could see in the distance a few figures standing on a cliff, so i watched and waited to see if any of them would jump, eventually one of them did, i couldn't contain my excitement and screamed “Woohoo”, i began to paddle much faster, it took us around 20 minutes to reach them. Arriving at the cliff i thought to myself “this looks familiar “, it was the cliff i had seen on google earth a few days prior.
I asked a friend if he could hold my paddle board while i swim over and off i went.
By this point i had seen quite a few people jump so i assumed it was safe but i took my goggles to do a quick depth check of my own just to be on the safe side, i'm glad i did as it was only just deep enough. There is a very nice 10 metre platform that is slightly over hanging so you dont have to leap out too far which makes it nice and safe.
